A noob question that needs an answer

What is the slot above the driverside interior window.. its looks like a slot to place a card or something.. I have been wondering for months now

Its the strangest thing.. whats the purpose for it?

O RLY?

Why would you want to put things there.. seems in the way and totally in your face.

seems unconventional still.. since you have like 10 different places to hold thing inside the cabin

Yeah I was wondering what the point of it was too. I saw that it said card holder so the first thing I thought of was business cards. After thinking that it made me more confused because putting business cards made no sense to me either. So I stopped caring. When I park in garages I usually tuck the little ticket stub into my visor. I guess I could do that with the card slot but old habits are hard to break.

You can take it out & put in a grab handle, like on the passenger side.

This "card holder" feature is common with the JDM cars in Japan, and since our G35 are made in Japan we have it (just like ashtrey). People in Japan would usually put gas station credit card / highway tool credit card etc in it as an easy to access spot, which is also somewhat hidden from out side the car. This feature works there since there is overall much less car brake in crimes and theft. just my 2 cents.
