Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

My last two cars have had this feature built in to the aftermarket alarm system. You just get everybody out of the car, hit the arm button and the doors lock, windows roll up, and the alarm arms itself. It's been awesome and I have never had a problem with anybody getting hurt. I was thinking of installing an aftermarket alarm in my G35 coupe just for this feature alone, but if you can come up with a failsafe method of tapping into the factory remote then I'm in.

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

I would be interested in a module that I could plug into the alarm harness without taking my door pannel appart. I would like to see a 5 minute plug-in solution.

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

oneshotkill - sorry, not gonna happen. You're going to have to tap some wires from the door no matter what. Even the aftermarket alarm installs have to go into the door to pick up the lock and unlock wires.

superg35 - yeah, I know... the sunroof would be great but at this point it looks out of scope for this mod. There's just too much wiring and tinkering to get it to work for the roof.

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

This would be cool if it was one-touch (so you don't have to hold the button while the windows go up). Otherwise you may as well use the key. (You can also get the windows up by using the key in the door--hold it in lock position and it rolls up the windows.)

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

Well, not quite one touch... it will be two touch. The first tap will lock the doors and the second will roll up the windows.

tieftrunk:
Isn't the whole idea to be able to roll the windows up/down without using the key? If that's the case, why would Blitz even bother? I for one, don't care if it's one touch, two touch or hold. The whole idea is to do it remotely!!!!!

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

would it be possible to make it a button hold instead of 2 taps. I think it would be safer, cuz you can stop the windows by letting go of the button incase something decides to stick their head in the window =P

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

I agree with fluffydot. Make it just like the factory down feature, where you have to hold the button. Safety first!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

i disagree, holding the button is a pain.

You should not be using this feature if there is ANY chance someone or something could get caught in the window.

Re: Window roll-up from factory remote

If I am not mistaken, you only have to hold it for a couple of seconds to close the window. I rather be safe than sorry, since small kids ride in my car once in a while.
