I finally decided to remove a tail light and confirm what bulbs are in there.
Here is how to remove a taillight:
1. Remove black plastic trim by pulling up gently. It is held in by 4 or 5 clips.
2. Remove thin (fuzzy) plastic by popping up the heads of the snap locks.

Now the 3 nuts that hold the tail light in are exposed. You will need a 8mm wrench and deep well socket.
3. A wire harness is held by a white cap that is pushed on one of the studs. Pop that off and remove the nut.
4. The stud closest to the center is in a recessed area and will need a socket to remove. DON"T DROP THE NUT!!
5. With all 3 nuts removed, gently pull the tail light assembly out.

The replaceable bulbs are (from left to right)
Reverse lite - T16/W2 or Piaa 19224, Polarg M6

Turn signal light - T20/7440 or Piaa 19225, Polarg M2

Side Marker Light - T10/168 or Piaa 19168, 19169, 19172

www.optauto.com has all the bulbs. I've ordered there before and got my stuff pretty quick.

Great job w/ the Pics & Descriptions.
Can you open up the Tail Light assembly to get to the LEDs or is it sealed?
I'm thinking about taking OUT the 12 LEDs That form the inner square wedge pattern (next to the back up lights) and placing them around the turnsignal housing so all FOUR ROUND LED taillights would be on for rear running lights. Can you say Skyline.

rugrat, from the looks of it, it looks sealed, the LED's are probably on a board, so your best bet is to just custom make your own set of led's.

I did not look into seeing if the unit was sealed, but my best guess would be - yes.
