Another headlights question *plz help*

Ok so I have an 04 coupe. I want to make the headlights brighter, in addition to having that bright white color.

I've read in alot of threads about D2R and D2S bulbs. My first question is do the 04 coupes have reflectors or projectors? I'm guessing they're reflectors but I don't know a whole lot about cars. So I know which bulbs to buy.

Also, I was looking at buying the Phillips bulbs at 5000k as I was told that the 6000k and up will have a blue/purple haze to it. I just want a really bright white color. Which are the best bulbs to buy?

Is that all I need to buy is the bulbs and swap them out? Do I need anything else to make this work?

Then for the high beam, I hate that yellow color it emits. Has anyone changed the bulb for that as well? What did you use?

Then randomly off topic but kind of on topic:

The clearance strip and corners. I had some cheap *** hyper white bulbs that were like $10. But I want to buy something that will be brighter than what I had, what did you guys use for those who have changed these bulbs?

Thanks for any information you guys can give.

you have HID Reflectors, which means you will need D2R bulbs..

i have the philips 6000k and when looking at the bulbs they look white w/ a hint of blue but they emit a pure white color..(thats my experience with them so far)

they are a direct plug and play (replacements)

your high beams use H4 bulbs..if you want pure white i suggest piaa xtreme white..if you want white with hint of blue i suggest piaa xtreme force..ive had both and i prefer the xtreme force..

as for the clearance strip..id go with a piaa wedge bulb..that or LED but ive heard it gets too hot for LEDs in there..

hope that helps..

good luck

Great man, thanks for the quick reply.

You wouldn't happen to have any pics of your lights would you?

H4 bulbs
D2R HID bulbs

Is ebay a no no for these or where would you suggest to buy from...

They may be "whiter", but they certainly won't be "brighter". If you think your stocks "suck", you will be happier just upgrading to projectors. Even at 4300k, the projectors are orders of magnitude better than the stock reflectors.

As for the fogs... You won't find anything to match the HIDs, believe me I tried. Everything will look "off". I ended up just getting hyper-yellow bulbs for the fogs.... Much better in my opinion then trying to match the HID.

thanks avs007... im researching it now and 4300k seems to be the brightest... unless i can talk my dealer into warrantying my broken headlight(s) AND replacing them with projectors... my budget is a little tight right now to upgrade to them thnx to damages to the car... gunna run me around $1000 at least to repair out of pocket

Perhaps you should find a different dealer. They should have no problem with that. I've paid the difference for upgrades on warranty work on all sorts of crap.

I mean, from the dealer's point of view, they are charging infiniti for a brand new headlight, but they get to keep in in their stock. So basically you pay the difference to pull a different item from their existing stock. Shouldn't be this difficult. Sounds like your dealer is just being retarded. Hell, maybe find a Nissan dealer. The Nissan dealer near my house advertises on TV that they are certified to perform Infiniti service/warranty work.

And on a side note... Isn't the headlight lense supposed to be made out of some sort of polycarbonate that is supposed to resist cracking/breaking? (Hence a warranty claim?)
