So in your opinion how much would changing out my bulbs and ballasts help with my S2000 projectors?

It's really difficult to give a quantitative number here, but it will increase the brightness. Standard 4100K at 35W is 3200 lumens. Supposedly 50W with 4100K is about 5000 lumens. I don't have a machine to measure this, so I can't tell you if this is really the case here. Incidentally those 6000K and up bulbs are about 2400 or less.

Yes it will. There's only a few ways to increase output:

1. change to a more efficient projector (S2000)

2. running a ballast at >35 Watts.

You don't really need the DL50 bulbs. The 35W Philips bulbs will run at 50W. But I changed out the bulbs just in case.

Ed, I'm going to try and get some reimbursement from the other driver's insurance for the light. I can fix the passenger side in about one day, but it's still a pain. Post some good pics when you get your lights. Has it been one year yet?

Ouch MAN!!! Sorry to hear that, I hope your car gets better, whenever you get a chance.

Also I have a question, as I am new to modifying lighting, how do you change a projector on our headlight assembly, is it simple remove one projector and ad the other or does it require some mods to headlamp housing?

Where'd you get the ballasts and bulbs, I ran a search and only retrofit kits come up.

sorry about your car man, I know how annoying it is to fix the lights.

also side note and Im sure you know this, anything above 4300K decrease in lumen at 35W.

Just when things can't get worse.

I'm running to jury duty, and I end up spraining my ankle, and I can't walk anymore.

I was then excused from jury duty.

Of course I lost my cell phone today, so the insurance adjuster can't call me....

Do you have the 06 lights with projectors or the 03-05 with reflectors. In either case, it's not a simple task, as you'll have to open up your lights to get to the low beam. I suspect that it will be easier to mod the projector on the 06 lights, rather than create an entirely new mounting system for a projector in the 03-05 housing.

IvoryGT, I got the ballasts from retro-solutions, and the DL50 bulbs from ebay. In real life, it's not a huge difference, but it is noticeable. I rarely turn on the TL projectors now, whereas before, I'd turn those on for more intensity.
