Phillips Ultinon vs Generic

I am looking to buying new bulbs for 04 coupe. I know a lot of people on this forum use the phillips ultinon. The question I have is, is there really a noticeable difference between the Phillips and a generic on?
The Phillips cost like three times as much so I want to know if its worth the extra money.

btw, for those who have the phillips, how much did you pay for them and can reccommend what site I should go to make the purchase?

Thanks!

-J

with generic bulbs, quality control is very low, and you never know how long they will last or if the colors of the two bulbs will even match. They also don't even do any color testing, so a "6k" generic bulb my be more blue or purple compared to a 6k ultinon depending on manufacturer. They also don't do any testing on lumen output and usually just come up with some random number for their output. Phillips ultinon 6k are already 25% dimmer than stock, so the generics are at best matching this output, so expect anywhere from 25%-40% less light output than stock
