Headlight conversion
I was wondering what kinds of light bulbs i would want to get if i want a bluish color to my headlights? How would i take out the light bulb? It looks pretty complicated to do when i pop the hood. Thanks for the help

G35lin,
Some of the older posts tell how to get to the lights. Needless to say you cannot get to the headlight bulbs from the engine side. I even think the Service Manual tells you to take the front bumper off and then remove the whole light assembly.
The easiest way is to jack the front up and take the front wheels off. From there you can remove the plastic splash guard towards the front and get to the back of the light. 1st time about 1 hour total, gets easier after that. Just pay attention to what and how you disconnect things.....
How they adjust these lights is REALLY a mystery. Since you cannot get to the adjustment screws from anywhere. The holes that they say are for adjustment, just DOES NOT make sense.
Bluish colour, there you got me. I used the CATZ GOLD in my 4Runner and the Sylvania Silver Stars in the "G" - they are white BTW-.

Re: Headlight conversion
I installed HIDs (5K McCulloch), and didn't have a problem aiming them. There's an 8mm post that sticks out of the back of each headlight assembly, accessible from the engine compartment. I think anti-clockwise is up, but don't quote me. For the left-right adjustment, there's a gear-like assembly about 2 inches above the 8mm post. Insert a flat screwdriver and move the gear one click at a time. Don't know which way the gear moves the lights, but a little experimentation would provide the answer. I taped big pieces of paper on my garage door and traced the headlight pattern at night. Then, when I moved the adjusters, I could see which way I was moving my headlights. Takes a little patience, but you'll get the hang of it.
Btw, I'd recommend saving up for the HID replacement, because it is so amazing! I was out the other morning at 5am, and it was like daylight with the real HID lights.
Good luck.

Bora,
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I thought about going to an aftermarket HID system also. But decided the % of night driving did not justify it versus going a more performance route.

I can only speak for the McCullochs. They're about $500, but have performed flawlessly. Of course, for $500, you might as well get the factory HIDs. But, my perfect car was on the lot, minus the HIDs, so I took the plunge.
Good luck.
Good luck.
