Question Help on HID Bulbs.

What exactly are the best set of HID bulbs to go for? I'm afraid of buying the wrong ones since the only way for me to buy things is to shop online. The 06 have D2S while the 05 and below have D2Rs Right? Someone help me on this!

You're correct, the only other thing you have to determine is what color output you want in the bulbs. 4300 K is pure white and it gets bluer or more purple the higher the number goes. Stick with popular brands like Philips and you should be OK.

Yes, since you have an 06 (projector), you would want to look into D2S bulbs. The most popular is going to be Philips although some people get Osram and GE bulbs.

As Sooner97 mentioned, the higher the Kelvin rating, the more "color" you get. Also, the higher you go, the lower the lumen count meaning they will loose light output. Most lighting enthusiasts like to stick with 4300K-5000K while other like 6000k+ for looks.

The stock Infiniti bulbs are Philips 85122+ which do not colorshift, meaning they will not change color over the bulbs life. I recently purchased Philips 85122 which start off similar to the stock bulb in terms of color but after about 100 hours, it will have a temperature of about 5000K, making it more blue.

If you want 6000K, most people go with Philips Ultinon. You will lose about 1/3 of the lumens (light output) compared to the stock bulb. You have to decide whether you want color or great visibility.

I was thinking of getting the 5000K bulbs. I don't want to lose that much output. I'm just sick of how these OEM bulbs are now! Any good sites that are legit and pretty decent for the price? I'm not even sure which site to even purchase them.

5000k won't give you much more color. 6000k Philips bulbs are awesome.

Has anyone purchased from this site?

http://www.xenondepot.com/product.php?product_id=42

I really don't know which site to go to..if anyone can send me in the right direction to buy them, that would be great!
I saw so far how the 6000K looks like on some of the members' cars here, and I think I'll just go for those instead. They make the car 10x better!

But yeah, can anyone put some sites up? I've been googling for a bit on this and still no luck..

^^^ If you are going to get 6000K bulbs, get Philips Ultinons. They are a bit more expensive. You can get them for about $185 shipped/set.

I thought stock Infiniti bulbs are not Philips, but Koito bulbs...The Philips 85122+ aren't even sold in Philips USA, and they are only made in Germany.

It makes more sense that the Infinitis OEM was Koito since it was made in Japan...

Other forums confirm this. Unless you pull out the bulb and take pictures of what brand it is, I don't think they come with Philips stock. My bulbs color shifted, so I don't think they are Philips 85122+...it is more likely that they are Philips 85122 than 85122+.
