I am debating on whether to take my car in to fixed the 06 recall on the headlights?

Do they actually replace the whole unit ( including the clear shell case)???

Help!

what do they actually replace when you take it in for recall? i just got mine 06 few days ago, i'm not sure if they've done the replacement for my headlights.

quick question, what's the different after when is replace? a completely different headlight or just adjustment? and can any post the differents between those two headlights? thanks

My mother had the recall done on her 2004 FX and they replace the entire headlight assembly. The FX lights are now brighter and have a better spread, but it seems that owners say the G35 lights take a step backwards, so I've declined.

it's just the driver side aimed too high. there's a DIY adjustment on here.

Yeah its really quick and easy. Just aim the driver side down with a #8 size wrench and you're all set. I used a socket wrench to adjust the set of lights I have now

for real? so it's not an actual defect on the headlight itself, it's just misaligned? So it's not brighter, not a better spread... nothing?

Where are you guys getting all this mis-information? Too much speculation.

The recall is not mandatory, its voluntary through INFINITI and it involves low-beam photometry, hence the reason for the revised (new) headlamp assemblies. If you have the opportunity, do it. Its not a major issue, but its an improvement, nonetheless.

Once the updated headlamps are installed, having them aligned is NOT a hard task. If you or your dealership isnt able to properly align your lamps, you should consider finding a more reputable place for service.

Cheers,
Mike
