i just ordered them and will post pics after install. i ordered 4 31mm festoons and 4 194s. the other 2 194s are for the clear corners.

i all ready opened the dome lights and license plate lights just to see if it was difficult and those were really easy.

the only ones i didnt try were the ones on the bottom of the doors. those look like a pain in the a** since they get real hot.

anyone tried changing their turn signal bulb to an LED? how was it?

Here is the trick to the door lights. just lay down on your back and with one leg, push on the pin switch so the car thinks the door is closed. this way, the bulb wont get hot.

i have changed turn signal bulbs to led but then switched back because you have to use resistors to prevent hyper flashing. there really isnt a good location to mount resistors as they get real hot.

pardon my ignorance, but why 4 festoons? do the map lights require replacing 4 bulbs??

and from where did you order them??

thanks

disconnecting the ground terminal will also do the trick.

thread revival.... anybody replace their reverse lights to make them brighter?

also, do the 2003-2005 coupes use a different bulb than the 2006-2007 since the reverse light housing is different?

Just an FYI for anyone else looking to replace interior lights with LEDs:

I just replaced all the interior lights on my '05 sedan with LEDs from superbrightleds.com

I ordered 6 of the 3022-x9 LED Festoon bulb ($2.95/ea + $2/ea for white)
2 for map/dome lights
2 for step/courtesy lights
2 for rear seat lights (sedan) -- have yet to install, need super tiny screwdriver

Also got 2 of the WLED-x6 LED bulb ($2.79ea + $0.95 for "cool white") for my license plate.

They all look pretty dang nice!... really makes the car look more upscale IMO.

I was thinking of replacing the rear turn signals with LEDs too, but have been worried about "hyper-flashing". Thanks to ttrank I think I've finally got my answers here.

Has anyone replaced the visor mirror lights? I would imagine it being kinda weird having all your other lights be LED then having your gurl open up the mirror to that nasty yellow glow....lol. Anyone know the size for replacing those?

Didn't take any "before" pics to compare to, but here are some after the mod.
All pics taken without flash, just FYI. I would say they're not as bright as the original incandecent, but I actually like it more that way (sets a different mood). Definitely still enough light to read or see or whatever though.

I definitely see your point, but considering the function of the visor lights, I'm sticking with that "nasty yellow." If your gurl was putting makeup on in the car or something, she needs that light for color acuracy. Even bathrooms lit by fluorescent lighting often have incandescent bulbs by the mirror for that same purpose. Just my two cents.

If you still want to replace it, more info can be found here.
