Thoughts on aftermarket HID Xenon bulbs HID-D2R

Is there any real difference in the factory installed xenon bulbs and the after market ones claiming to be even brighter. Do they last as long if you go to a higher temp or are they just blowing sunshine up the customers ***.

LMAO at that comment. yea that's pretty much what they're doing, because stock is the brightest temperature out there(+/- 4300K) and the higher the temperature you go, the less output its going to give you. its going to seem brighter, but thats just more glare. i went with 6000K because its a good compromise b/w aesthetics and output

no i dont think it has anything to do with lasting long, it's just how much light output
they give you. i mean, even if it does last less than stock, it might only be a few hours,
which is really nothing in comparison to what it lasts in total. and watch out for some of the more sensitive members on here who flame
about higher temperature bulbs; i personally dont care, because even 12000K bulbs are STILL better than halogen

M.I.A. summed up most of it. As far as lasting long, alot of aftermarket bulbs are not made with the same quality and standards as brands like Philips, Osram, etc, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't last as long as OEM.

As for 12,000K being better than halogen, try driving with both in the rain.

I ain't talking about halogens, I agree they suck when compared to HID xenon lights. So is it generally agreed switching to a higher temp HID xenon may look cool but they don't perform as well on lighting up the road as the stock temp bulbs.

yes, except its not generally agreed that it "looks cool". Alot of people will think it looks "ricey"

if you don't know -- d2s bulbs are almost identical to d2r bulbs but with more lumens because they don't have a wrap
