Phillips,PIAA etc etc

Through my searching on here, it seems that Phillips and PIAA are the two popular choices for the D2R reflector HID bulbs to replace stock 4300K. PIAA has the super cobalt 6600K which i believe to be slightly more blue yet less light output than 6000k Ultinons. Is there another reputable brand out there you guys trust? I was told 6000K or 6600K is as high as i should run on my stock ballasts. Will i be safe if i get 8000K,(thats as high as i would go) on my stock HID ballasts?

yea you'll be safe, although i dont know exactly what you want to be safe from,
but 8000K is going to have not the best output, but still better than halogen,
so get that if you want man; your car, your money. i have 6000K and its still a lot of output

Thanks MIA

By safe i meant, If for some reason using too high of a temperature(K) it would create damage to the harness/ballasts melt, crack, peel etc. Im trying to decide between the 6600K PIAA, or a 8000k HID bulb but im not sure of a good company/brand i have seen that makes 8000k. I don't exactly want to go el cheapo depot and pay $85.99 for 8000k D2R, and sacrifice quality. Thanks MIA for your input.

although you do lose output, i say 6000K is a good temp to run. anything above that and you are mainly going for looks. The ultinon is a popular choice on the boards.
