Anyone have lights from v-leds.com/frickinbrite.com die?

I picked up some 5 led 194 and also high power 194 bulbs from them in dec 06. Been using them in my clear corners since but the high power bulbs have both been flickering since last week. So i swapped them for some 5 led bulbs from superbrightleds i had as spares.

Should they die so soon?

maybe if you have moisture in your clear corners or the voltage is not properly regulated. like a new stereo system...or something. but you could always get a bad LED chip. it happens. they are not super expansive so I dont expect it to last all that long anyhow.

Almost all of those bulbs are overdriven, so don't expect any sort of decent lifetime.

well according to their response - the first version of the bulbs had no heatshields but the new ones do and have longer life...

How is that even possible? If the switch is off there is no physical connection to the battery. And where is a transistor anywhere in the LED? Maybe I'm just not familiar with their technology, but that seems very odd.
