Question nothing but problems....................

I'm new to the forum and was hoping to get some help with an annoying problem I'm having with my car. I drive an '05 G35 coupe, 6 speed manual. Anyway, about 3 months ago, I upgraded the standard head lights to brighter bulbs and in the process, converted the fog lights, to HID. I had the Golden Eye HID lighting system installed. About 2 weeks after the installation, the passenger side hid foglight popped. I had it replaced and that seemed to fix the problem, or so I thought. By the end of the week, the passenger side hid foglight stopped working, but it didn't pop. I took it back to the shop once again and the installer found the problem to be a bad ballast. He replaced it and it seemed to be fine. It was this past wednesday. I haden't tried to run the lights until today and when I did, all hell broke loose. When I start the car and turn on the headlights, there is no problem. But when I turn on the hid foglights, the "check engine soon" light turns on as well as the "slip" and "vdc off" lights. I tried doing some trouble shooting myself and disconnected the battery to basically reset evreything. It didn't make a difference. As soon as I turn on the foglights, it goes to crap. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. When it does happen, the car won't accelerate even if it's parked. I literally have the gas pedal floored but my RPM's stay a little over 1000. The car runs just fine during the day with no lights on or at night with only the headlights. I'm just not sure if it is infact the foglights or a coincidence with the engine actually having a different problem.

If anyone has had this happen or has any kind of ideas, please feel free to chime in. All help is more than welcome.
Thanks

-tony

I say take it back to the shop that messed it up and force them to fix it correctly.
