US to JDM/Euro help ____/----__/---- to ----\___----\___

As some of you already know. I am moving to Japan and I am planning on taking the G with me. I want to retrofit my fx projectors, but the original cutoffs would be bad for Japanese roads.

Does anyone know where I can purchase/acquire new cutoff shields? I may end up just using a piece of foil or something to make it completely flat.

Shield in the projector

Shield pulled out of the projector.

You would have to find jdm/edm g35/fx projector headlights and pull the shields from there. You could custom make something from a thin sheet of metal also, but it may be difficult to get it to attach to the stock shield

I probably will but, an R32 or R35. The V35 is the family wagon. Plus I still owe over 20k on it. I have put a lot of work into it. No way am I giving it up right now.

I would also have to make it twice . There has to be a way of buying shields.

Just ran across IvoryGT's thread https://g35driver.com/forums/body-interior-exterior-lighting-diy/135921-diy-2006-projector-cutoff-color-mod.html
and I can see that the G35 coupe projectors are the same as the FX, which means I should probably wait 'till I get to Japan for the retro. I'll probably probe the junk yards there for the projectors. I think I might use these in my bumper after all. I can use them as fog lights.
Doh, I just remembered. I don't have ballasts, so the bumper is a no go for now

Might want to sell your projectors now so you can at least get some cash for the new ones you buy in Japan.

I do, but I need to worry about other things first, (like JDM housings, taillights, etc).
I really was hoping I could just get the cutoff shields (since I already have the projectors)

Ivory, I did the shield mod on them and they are razor sharp now Thanks for the DIY.

These are pretty sharp (after the shield mod). Don't need the other types. Plus I got them for way cheaper than you can find TL projectors.
Alas, I won't be able to use them though

Eddie's FXs were sharper than my TL+ ZKW & TSX lol but I was told it was fuzzy because of the lens cover.

Hey Eddie, let me know if your sharp cutoff gets fuzzy with the lens cover

good luck with the retro

Sorry, no retro without a Japanese cutoff shield. I might do the fog light thing (in the bumper). Just need a way to protect them and I need to get ballasts/ignitors.

Redlude was telling me on another forum that it was impossible for me to get a sharp cutoff with the FX lenses
