Hey everyone,
I recently just traded in my 01 Nissan Maxima 20th Anniv. Ed for an 06 IP G35 Coupe 6MT, which I am loving by the way. Anyhow, as usual I can never keep any of my cars stock and I already have the modding bug so I wanted to start with the easier/"cheaper" items.

So I decided to start with the lights and I have been searching this forum quite a bit on this subject but still have questions regardless.

What's been everyone's experience/opinion in dealing with bulbs versus leds as far as looks and performance are concerned? Are leds better than bulbs or bulbs better than leds? Or does it depend on the application?

The lights I am looking to replace are the fogs, city lights, turn signals, side markers, doors, map lights, license plates, & revers lights.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Well i see that you havent done MUCH searching. THere is a ton of threads on VLEDS. Even a thread on an 06 coupe that just upgraded ALL the lights your talking about. Im sure if you search vleds, or ANY of the lights your looking for, it will come up.

 

Please don't patronize me if that's what you are trying to do. All I am asking for is some help not smart remarks.

Yes, I saw the threads on VLEDS, PIAA bulbs, etc., etc. However, what I didn't see, unless I missed it, was discussions on which is better (led vs bulbs). Just trying to determine which is better or determine if it depends on the application or if it is just a matter of personal opinion/preference.

If you're going to offer help then cool. I would definitely appreciate it but if you're just going to be smart about it then I would rather you not replay at all.

Who is patronizing? By telling you to do some searching, and giving you the topic to search for? Ok, well forget it, do it yourself. Here is me patronizing you. Take the same amount of time you took to write out your paragraph, and put it in a search. From there, you will find a billion threads on LED. In case you didnt know, LED is OBVIOUSLY better, being that it gives off MORE light, and less power. Where did i learn that? from searching. Try it. Now im done patronizing. thanks

 

It is 99% personal preference. There are minor other differences such as power consumption and life, but those don't usually figure into the decision.
