How long is my headlight supposed to last?

My headlight just burnt out - I'm pretty sure it burnt out because it had turned pink for a few days and then, nothing.

I would think that something like a HID headlamp would last more than 2.5 years 30k miles. Is this common? Covered under warranty? I've had other cars with Xenon/HID headlamps and they've lasted well past 4 years. Thought I would ask.

Not all bulbs are equal. Yes, there is an average lifespan for HID bulbs. But that doesn't necessarily mean that all bulbs will last this average length of time. Some will last shorter, and others longer.

Not sure that it'd be covered under warranty. Can't hurt to ask though.

it depends on how often you turn then on also. Lifetime hour averages are based on and average number of hours per ignite. if you use them alot for short periods of time, that will significantly shorten their lifetime

I believe that the HID bulbs are covered under the base 4/60 warranty, though I'm not 100% sure. Definitely check with your dealer!
