mystery wire for hid's

i just changed out my clearance lights and hids, but after I installed them I realized that I pulled the yellow wire off the wiring harness for hid bulb, which I was thinking is some sort of grounding wire. The lights seem to work fine, but I was wondering if it will cause any issues ???

ya the yellow one is a grounding wire
it would be recommended you screw it back on
could cause longterm problems
