Question about Mtec D2C bulbs

i've searched around about this but couldn't really find an answer. on ebay when i was looking for mtec hid bulbs... i saw both d2r and d2s. the d2r had a black thing around the bulb and the d2s didn't. What is that black thing? On a site where i saw the mtec hid bulbs for sale with free shipping...they only have d2c. i know d2c works both d2r and d2s...but there's no black thing on it like the original d2r. my question is what happens if there isn't the black thing? also has anyone tried the d2c... how is the fitment in installing? thanks for the help guys.

it is the ceramics shielding that prevents glare in OEM reflector housing HID setups. Without that shielding, your headlights will have major glare issues and blind other drivers

Dang that means i shouldn't get the D2C bulbs huh? since there's no shielding. Better to get exactly what i need which is D2R. Thanks for the help.

i have had d2c in both setups... reflector housing (03-05) and my new 06-07 projectors, they work fine and no issues whatsoever. BUT that doesn't mean they didn't have any glare.. I never noticed any issues though. good luck!
