Quote: I've never used Nokyas, but I have seen them in person and compared them to my Luminics. They were on par. It should be noted that my Luminics are H1 and the Nokyas I compared them to were H4 (on the low beam setting).

Luminics
Wattage [draw]: 55
Wattage [output]: 130
Color: JDM Yellow
Color Temp: 2500K

Nokya
Wattage [draw]: 55
Wattage [output]: 70
Color: Hyper Yellow
Color Temp: 2500K
I think you need to research this a bit.

The alternator in the infiniti is only 120 amps. If the high beams were on you would not have enough power left to run anything else.

Using Ohm's Law: http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/page2.asp#9

130 watts (bulb published) / 13.8 VDC (Nom.) = 9.42029 Amps

13.8 VDC X 55 amps (draw) = 759 Watts off power.

I was under the impression that the output wattage these aftermarket bulb manufacturers state is just a marketing ploy. They're trying to say that they're bulbs draw a certain amount of wattage, but are able to put out the same intensity/brightness of light as a bulb that draws a higher wattage. Am I wrong to ignore that #?

The headlights in this discussion are bi-xenon. That is, there are no dual filament bulbs here. The cutoff shield in the projector is attached to a solenoid. When activated, the solenoid flips the shield down to allow all the light to pass through. I know dozens upon dozens of people/members on this forum that use 55 watt fogs. I have yet to hear any problems.

overwattage? bulbs are still 12v 55w input just like stock. the output may be higher or lower but that wont cause any damage.

I got my Nokya H1's last year, and they lasted about 18 months before one of them burned out.
I never had a chance to compare them in person to the Luminics, but I was very pleased with the Yellow color they provided.
I'm ordering another set tonight.

thats what you think until you see a couple of burnt up harnesses.

yea output/draw is a lot higher then stock. the bulbs are 55w going in but the output is like 100-120w, the watts drawn in order to get the output is about 100w.

so far a lot of people are stating no problems with harnesses so thats great to read.
