Question Has anyone cleaned that haze from the Headlamp Lens?

It looks BAD! Has anyone cleaned their lens cover and removed this cloudy haze?

TSB #ITB02-031, dated May 3, 2002, introduces 3M Plastic Polish (# 39010) to polish the headlamp lens and remove the haze.

Is their a better product than the 3M brand from 2002?

Also, are the lens covers removed easily for cleaning or does it require special tools, sealants, etc.?

I am anxious to get this done. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks for any help on this.

I had used some aircraft canopy polish for getting rid of the bad haze and then maintain it with Plexus plastic cleaner, which is also good for clear bras.

remember, there is a difference between "polish" and "cleaner", not to be confused with a Polish cleaner.

^OK, I didn't really think about that.

So, is the haze on the inside of the lens or outside?

Can the covers be easily removed without special tools?

thanks!

my haze was on the outside. I then used BlueBats overlays and haven't worried about it since.

You can't remove the covers to get to the insides without baking them in an oven the to crack the seals.

Mine were bad when I bought the car and I thought I would have to pay somebody to fix them...

I hit them with some buffing compound and the wheel and then maintain it with regular waxing. They look 1000x better than before.

Plastic cleaner and polish. After they are clear, a set of 3M clear bra overlays and you will never have the problem again.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the tips. I bought a plastic cleaner/polish today and I am just floored at how much better they look. Actually looks almost showroom condition!

All along I was thinking the haze was from the inside of the lens since glass cleaner didn't faze the haze in the past. Duhhhhh.....
