So my right headlamp went out and I took it to my Inifinit dealer. He told me since the prior owner had damaged that side of the G35 they wouldn't warranty out the headlight. He quoted me $1400 to do an entire headlight assembly. He said my Ballast, was toast and my headlight was cracked and letting in water so there was nothing they could do. So I said **** that and decided to take the task on myself, and did it all for around $15, and a couple hours.

<p> Everyone should take the front of the car apart because its great to know how do do **** yourself and save $$$$$, unless its under warranty.

<p>Overview:
1) If you have a crack in the headlight locate it, or ask infiniti to point it out.
<p>2) Now they said my ballast was toast so I took it out and shook all the water out of it and put a hairdryer on it to dry it out. Then let it sit for a couple hours more to dry..IT WORKS NOW!!( Saved $500+)
<p>3) If water gets in the headlight you need to get it out. Put the headlight in the oven. I put mine in there at 250 degrees and just kept checking on them to see if the condensation was gone.
<p>4) If there are puddles of water get a drill bit that is VERY small and drill into the lens to let the water drip out, unless you can get it out the same crack.
<p>4) After all the condensation is out, fill the drill bit hole, and the crack with a water resistant poxy. You can find this at your local Advanced autoparts.
<p>5) After the Poxy dries, take a headlight sealant and go over the same area to give it and extra seal. Also go over any other questionable areas.
<p>6) Let it all dry out, and then do a test to see if the headlight starts working again.
<p>7) Look for any other areas you can tape/seal off so water cant get in.
<p>8) If problems still persist you can use a voltage checker to make sure power is going to everything.

<p> I am in no way a service man, Im a 20 year old kid that got his headlight working again when I was told everything was fried. These are just some steps/tips to help you with yours so you dont have to spend $1400+

instead of drilling the holes to hope 100% of the water drains out.... you could've baked it and opened up the assembly... that way you could dry out all the water, and let it sit long enough to ensure that there is no residual moisture... just a thought for next time...

Sorry I meant the actuator. The lady in the parts section on infiniti told me that cost around 500
