Headlights CCFL

While my car is in the shop getting the new Rookie bumper and UTR grille painted i planned on a headlight project. I looked up painting them and all that, i feel pretty comfortable doing it but my worries is angle eyes. I looked up what the difference is between these $30 ebay ones and the $200 kit and i dont see a difference. Is there one?

Will these work?

Sorry i know there's a headlight mod post open but i didn't want to hijack his thread.

Ok I have these exact ones. I had a little money in paypal so I figured I would just be the one to test them . First off the mounting hardware is some little 3m pieces of double sided tape, atrocious. Next the top ones do not fit right at all. Then to just top it off after installing and everything I turn them on and one of the tubes was already dead.

rant/

The good part is yes they are cheap! bright too. If you do buy these make sure you pick up some kind of adhesive that can handle heat. Plus some wiring and quick disconnects. Its a pain but a good deal! The ebay seller is really nice and send me another full set for free.

.edit.

I will take some pics of them if you want prior to you buying them.

Yes please, that would be great. When you say one didn't fit what do you mean, is it still usable. Did they send you the wrong ones? If it doesn't fit i definitely wont get them. As for adhesive i heard that epoxy works well.

Both the upper halos diameter was a different shape then the upper light diameter.. it is usable and looks fine. just only a certain area of the halo is touching the ring around the light. its do able just a bad design.

i just took some pictures. They lack quality but im sick and its cold outside but you will get the point

only the lower two are connected right now. This is what it looks like with just the lower two working and headlights OFF.

You can see how the fitment of the upper is wrong.. the halo is smaller but it still works with some elbow grease! Really not that noticeable just annoying to me.

bottom halo

not too bad I mean I'm 17 and the old man gives me a D- in my soldering and wiring skills and I managed to get it done . I will take some pictures of the wiring next so you can see what you have to do. The worst part is just getting the lights apart after that its some glueing a couple holes in the light housing and some wiring. Nothing beyond that really.

Ya, picture and a write-up would be awesome if you have the time...I'm looking to do a few cheap appearance mods and this would be perfect and I could paint my headlights at the same time.

did you use high temp silcone?

what soldering is needed, should be given t-taps to splice into power

mine came with t taps as well, not that it did me much good as the sh!tty packaging meant the tubes were busted on arrival.

Did you buy from the same seller? Was he prompt in shipping you a new set...and also, did either of you get charged for a new set (even shipping)?

I'm leaning towards doing this for the relatively inexpensive cost.

Are these Demon Eye Kits always on? That's what I'd like, just like LEDs, or how are they powered? I'm assuming it depends on what you tap them into ya?

Updates updates...haha, I'm anxious and wanna order these. Need some pictures if possible Superior...also, curious to exactly what everyone used to mount the halos, where you mounted the inverter power units, and what you used to reseal the hole you drilled to route the wires.

snotf; I assume you ordered the same kit from the same seller? Any thoughts aside from the broken halo, which obviously is a big deal.

this has peaked my interest very much...

is this T-tapped into the parking light wire or is it running its own power and ground and switched on its own?

I'm not liking the upper ones, so i might just run the one for the fogs on its own.
