Will Lighting kit void warranty?

Not a full blown lighting kit. I plan to put a Knight Rider light behind the grill. Very subtle. You won't be able to see it unless its on. I plan to rig it with an aftermarket alarm so it will only be on when its armed. The only problem is that the switch for the lights has to be mounted somewhere inside the car. Will this void the warranty in any way by running the wires from under the hood to the inside console?

I was thinking the same thing. It would look really cool. I was going to do a red light and a blue light that cris-cross paths. Behind the grill right. That would look really kool.

Geez...

Re: Will Lighting kit void warranty?

Yo, I installed a Scanner in my car! Its the blue lights that go on if the car is off. But there is a problem with mine. I couldn't find a place to put the third yellow wire that was suppose to go to the aftermarket alarm or to the radio fuse. I tried the radio fuse but it didn't work. Got any advise for me since you are since you are installing the same thing but just semi-different? Thanks for the help!!

Yada Yada, Rice, Blah Blah Blah. I heard it all before. It has nothing to do with looking cool or whatever. Knight Rider is one of my all time favorite shows. Childhood dream of mine to have KITT's red scanner light.

G35Lin... I am getting the coupe, so I don't have the car yet. I still need to shop around for an aftermarket alarm. A friend of mine specializes in car alarms and remote starters. I'm going to have him install it. It's not gonna be till January/February, although i haven't been on good terms with him lately. You might find a solution before I do.

But my original question was... Will running the switch to the inside, void the warranty?

IMO .... You need to go buy an early 80's Trans Am... Not a G.

And running the switch to the inside will not void your warranty. For example if you take the G in because the alternator goes bad and they track a problem to your aftermarket install... you will be charge for the alternator. Any other problems should be covered under warranty.

it can the void warranty if infiniti prooves that your electrical device was the onset of other problems.

Re: Will Lighting kit void warranty?

FYI - In short, excuse the "pun"; any modification to the way the vehicle was manufactured (ie. wiring, drilling holes, adding electrical loads to existing circuits ((or modifying existing loads)) can seriously "void" the manufacturers warranty--not to mention possibly cause an unwarranted "thermal" event. Specifically the addition of "high voltage" aftermarket xenon lighting. I have seen "many" smoked harness's due to addition of aftermarket accessories....
