Am i dumb, or is there a trick to removing the tails? I just don't want to break any clips or anything....and i can't find a writeup on it? I found headlights and sedan tails, but not coupe tails?

there was a recent post on how to, take a few minutes to look it up.

It is easy, open trunk, remove the gray lining, remove the nuts (I believe 3 on each side), disconnect the harness, remove taillight.

^ perfectly correct. did this quite a few times recently during the fitting and installation of my new rear bumper. very simple. just get to it! it all becomes blatantly clear once you lift up the carpet/undo the lining.

ya if i remember right the center plastic piece comes off. you just pull up on it after taking any of the push-in clips out. none of the clips on the part should break. other than that you just take some of the push-in clips out of the carpet to get it out of the way.

let me know if you have any issues.

this is a very easy strait forward removal and re-install,the above posts are correct-remove plastic center..theres 2 clips holding carpet in(one each side) they are the cargo net clips(remove both of them) pull back carpet, diconnect each TL then remove the 3 nuts holding each tail in place(i think its an 8mm deep socket) tail should pop right out.

like everyone is saying, pretty straight forward.I took mine off and on the past week and have them off now.once all the trim comes off it's just three 8mm screw that hold the taillights in..

On the 2007 G35'sis there a way to remove the reflector piece on the inside of the tail lights?, not the one on the inside of the ring, its on the inside brakelights (where all the individual leds form three lines).. I noticed that the older G's didnt have a reflector and illuminate more brighter that the ones on the 2007.

Yes, they can be easily removed, once you have the taillights open. The reflector for the 3/4/5 group of LEDs comes out easily. The one for the LED ring is glued in one area, but it's still an easy 10 second job with a dremel.

Opening the lights is another story, esp the 06+ ones. I ended up dremeling them open with reinforced cutoff wheels that can cut through metal.

I never noticed that the 03-05 ones were brighter.

^alright...thanks.
The 03*05 were more like clearer to see...not really brighter...my bad.

To seal the taillights back, should I just bake them....or use some kind of sealant?

the taillights are cemented together. Putting them in the oven won't do anything. You'll need to seal it back together with your sealant of choice.
