I plan to purchase a set on ebay, but heard about the recall. Not sure exactly what happened. But are most of the ones circulating on ebay the ones that are being effected? what exactly is wrong with the recalled ones? and how can i spot them.

 

Recalled headlights are aimed too high and blind oncoming traffic. Headlights need to be aimed lowered. Some dealerships can lower them, but there's also a DIY. Dealerships would probably rape your wallet anyway.
That's why nobody is allowed to sell used '06 headlights on the forums unless they are certified brand new and are guaranteed not to be the recalled headlights, such as Riverside Infiniti.
If you get a recall and don't aim it lower, you can be ticketed for your lights and oncoming traffic will hate you and probably flash you back.

 

I am not sure bout the ones on ebay, but i went to the dealership in march and they got me new projectors. So i would say yea they are still recalling them. Best part was having to pay nothing to get new projectors installed for free!

the problem with the recalled lights is not just that they are aimed too high, it is that many have internal cutoff rotation issues which CANNOT be fixed by external adjustment alone. Many require that the headlight be opened up and the cutoff shield be adjusted, which 99% of people don't know how to do.
