Third Brake Light LED is out

My sisters fiance notified me the other day that one of the LEDs in my third brake light is out. Checked it out, and sure enough the middle one is kaput.

Are these hard to replace or should i take it to the dealer? How much do they charge to change the bulb?

you have to buy new from the dealer or ask someone that has a spoiler if you can buy their third brake light

Last time I checked, they charge ~150 for parts and 150+ for labor.

I tried that before, you can move it nowhere even after you unscrew it.

Post a thread in the WTB section, lighting section and sedan section of the forum asking if anyone will sell theirs to you for like 100, that sounds far

Dang, $226? I noticed this happened on my girlfriend's G sedan. One of her LEDs is out. Don't want her to have to shell out $200 on one LED.

Yes and yes it's a pain. Actually if you are willing to drill a hole in you deck lid, it would make the process alot easier (the right side screw is a royal pain). I think the std method is to take apart your rear deck panel but that entails taking the rear seats out.

I have NO idea why there is a big hole in the deck sheet metal yet it's just inches from being large enough to reach the right side screw.

I might just leave it. This sounds like a royal PITA to change just for 1 LED.

If you have the light out, how hard is it to open up and just replace the burnt out LED? If you can solder, probably not terribly hard (and cheap).

It's the wires in the back the LED light. If you can get your hand in there and touch it you will see it turn on again.
