Clock LED Implementation

Been trying unsuccessfully to implement Blue LEDs into my clock. (I have 2004 G35 sedan).

Basically, my problem is that its very difficult to get illumination onto the clock itself as the light is only exiting the internal cavity through very tiny slits.

Right now i'm using (2) Blue LEDs in series on each of the original bulb locations and did my best to orient them so they push as much light as possible into those slits.

Anyways, anyone else have any experience with something like that and if you did anything (perhaps modifying of the clock assembly itself) to allow more light to pass through?

Looks really cool, but just not getting enough light through.

Thanks
