Cool HID Ballast swap...

Some great DIY's on this site, glad to see some folks doing their own thing over here. I spent some time this afternoon narrowing down an issue with the LH low-beam today with the wheel removed. It's apparently an issue with either the ballast or a short in the wiring. I'll pick up a ballast this week and swap it out this weekend, but a question for those who have done this:

It's an easy procedure, got it...but easier with the entire assembly removed from the car, or is it possible to fish the connector up through the asssembly to the back of the bulb without dropping the bumper, etc...?

Thanks for input!

Thumbs up

No I didn't, I began with the assumption that the bulb was bad, so I just went in from the back side, then checked all the fuses up behind the battery.

Dropping the bumper and taking the assembly out does seem pretty simple...I found a new ballast for 85 bucks, I'll probably just jump on it and swap it out this coming weekend...thanks for reply!
