Ok my buddy claims he removed the plastic--outer core of the headlights in order to eliminate the yellowish of it. is this a good idea? he hasnt encounter any problems so i decided to ask before doing it myself...i tried the stuff they sell and it works for about a week and they go back to looking dull

the best way for me is to change the headlight complete and get new ones. Trying to remove the yellow dullness is a pain in the ***. There are different ways to clean them-sanding with different grips and polishing them afterwards. Just buy new ones and save urself the hassel.

^are you taking about the 3M headlight restoration? I always wondered about the long term results on these.

yeah its good to use the lens cleaner but ..

after you clean the lens its a good idea to wax the headlights
with wax as well ..

to seal it ..

it kept becoming dull for me also until i waxed the headlights after cleaning them ..
hope that helps ..
