custom led headlight project

so here's the ......i have a set of 06-07 headlights apart. i've seen a post some time ago with someone who did an awesome set of headlights but i cant seem to find any post with them anymore. i'm going to paint match the housing to the my OB coupe. instead of doing led's down the non-existant clearance strip....i'm goin to run led's on the inside. like that one person did. he even had a "x" in the marker lens. if anyone can find this post...please help me out cuz i've searched it up with no success. so im gonna run 7 white led's up the housing above the marker lens area. and i want to run either a red halo or red led ring around the projector lens.....and im unsure if i want to use another one elsewhere. ive looked at that oznium site for the strips and individual led's. any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. thanx

I remember seeing that post with the X in LEDs. I'll see if I can find it again.

yup thats it. thanx. i love the red accent paint but im going all black in my housing. i might leave the piece in front of the low beam silver but idk yet. im going to either run a red halo or led strip around the projector with the leds going up the inside. idk if i wanna put another halo anywhere else yet.......ideas? and im doing all this myself other than having my buddy paint match the housing for me. thanx again.

I used the silicone LED strips from oznium in my setup. It all depends on what look you want to achieve. SOme like the lights facing forward where I opted to have them aimed at the lens so they create a nice ring effect on it. Also, the number of lights in the projector will determine what it will look like. The more light there are the more it will flood that area with light.

im gonna have like 9 3mm led's running up the inside and im debating on whether i wanna run white or red led strips around the projector lens for the same effect you got goin on. just give it a lil demonic look since the housing will be blacked out. i believe i will have it wired up to the marker light, or is there a better way to wire it up seperately??

dont do anything red in your headlight, unless its something you can turn it off or cannot be seen once the low beams are on (within projector lens). you will get pulled over and fined.

yeah that was my next thought. im gonna be doin what bmpnride did and do the led strip facing the inside so it shines on the lens. i'll prolly just stick with white to avoid any issues cuz i dont wanna be addin/runnin wires and switches in this car.

^ you will probably wan't to run a relay or switch to at least the halo b/c I don't think the leds will last with all of the heat from the projector, so you'll want to switch them off when the headlight goes on. Someone can probably chime in with experience

yeah that would make sense to have it shut off when the lights are on.

Depending on what strips you use, they could be left on all the time with the projectors. I have my angel eyes and my side strip wired separately to switches inside my car. The angel eyes are not visible when the projectors are on so I turn those off. There are many options when it comes to LEDs. What size LEDs are you gonna use for the housing? I would suggest at least 5mm since the 3mm are pretty small and not as bright.

i was thinking of doing 3mm but it wont be no problem to run 5mm since i haven't ordered any led's yet. and i was thinking of the flexible led strips from oznium to go around the projector lens.
