Blue Gauges

I changed the color of the LEDS in the gauges and buttons. I followed sexyrob's thread. The gauges were the hardest, had to sand the orange film off that was on the front. I used white LEDs and a blue film to make it blue. buttons and temp display all have blue LEDs and the clock white LEDs....alll in all about 40 white LEDs and around 50 blue LEDs were used. Hope you guys like it!!! Still need to take it apart once more since one LED must be bad(its flickering)...and might make the needles white.

Accordfreak- I only sanded the orange film on the circle and tick marks.....everything else still has the orange film(you can't see it unless the window is open and sun shines right on the gauges) Did you do also do the 05+ gauges?

It looks so damn sexy. Leave everything the way it is (except for the flickering light)
How long did it take you to do this?
And how difficult is it?

Link to their DIY?

VinhFTW-The buttons were easy, i would say 2~3 hours...the AC amp/clock was another 2~3 hours....the hardest by far were the gauges took 10+ hours to do them by themselves...If your not experienced with soldering and desoldering i wouldn't recommend you to do it. I knew how to solder and desolder but never SMD parts so it was new (i am an electrical engineering student so i love trying stuff like this and took the risk ) but i ended up frying my JDM DD board so i had to replace it. As far as DIY theres a couple on this forum, search AccordFreak or sexyrob, they both have a good amount of pictures of the process.

AccordFreak-do you by anychance still have the 05+ gauges?

Great work, those gauges look awesome. Since my car is a daily driver, I doubt I'll ever be able to do this unless I get a second gauge cluster, but I'd love to go blue with the lights. The individual buttons would be easy, but I don't know how that would look with a stock gauge cluster.

BTW, I wouldn't go white with the needles myself. I'd keep them orange or maybe go with red. Not enough contrast with white.

Don't worry, you won't. Just wait until you've owned your car a little longer.
