How to test tail lights without installing them?

Tried searching without much luck..

I picked up a set of JDM tails with the driver's side LED ring not working when you press on the brake. Ideally, I'd like to fix it and keep them as a spare or resell.. Is there a way to test out the lights without connecting it to the car? I'd hate to have to keep popping them in and out of the car after I tinker around with it.

Anyone have any ideas and what I should look at when trying to fix it too? I looked at the PCB board and it looks like I'd have to take apart the entire tail light to remove it.

I use a computer power source, just tap into the right wire to get them to work without them being connected to a computer.
