Changed factory HID bulbs, also installed HID H4's for the fogs
I replaced the factory HID D2R's with 8000k bulbs and installed a 8000k H4 HID conversion into the fog/high beam housing a few days ago and the results are fantastic. There is a perfect color match in the output from the fog/low beams and they light the road incredibly well (certainly looks brighter than the factory 4300k hid and halogen fog combo). Glare doesn't seem to be an issue with the fogs either since they are pointing downwards anyway. Highly recommended and not terribly costly mod to do.

I'll put some up later today, I tried taking them last night with my camera phone but it was too bright and the camera couldn't cope with it.

your going to blind alot of people by putting them in your fogs

They may look brighter because it's a different color, but in fact they put out less visible light than stock. Both are 35W, so they put out the same amount of light, but the 8000K color emits some of that light into the unltraviolet range, which the human eye can't see. I'm sure it looks good, but don't fool yourself into thinking it's lighting up the road better.

^also blinds everyone with glare. since your putting HID lighting in halogen housing. Are your high beams functional?
|
i put HID's in my fogs and noticed a pretty huge amount of glare... park your car facing a wall about 25-30 ft. and you'll see spots above the normal cutoff.

I have HID lights in my OEM halogen headlight (both lo and fog are halogen), and the lo beams glare. I would assume that having the fog lights as HID would just be overkill.
|
Just don't drive around with your fogs on all the time and the glare won't be an issue. I don't use my fogs unless I'm on the highway and it's raining.
|
HID in your fogs while it's raining on the highway is probably the last thing you want to do.

Right now I have halogen black housing headlights. I'm considering selling them and getting OEM Xenon headlights. What's your set up for low, high, and fog?
