Having my sedan headlights modified

Hello all,

I'll be sending my '05 sedan headlights out to have them retrofitted with projectors soon.

I have already accepted the fact that I may not be able to use my car while the lights are gone but wanted to ask just in case. I'm looking for a temporary lighting solution instead of having to rent a car.

I have done all the reading on the eBay "JDM" headlights. Yes, I know they are poor quality but I don't care. I would only use them for less than 2 weeks. I know they are plug and play for 03-04 sedans but since the 05-06 headlights are different I don't think the ones sold on eBay will fit. Keep in mind, many of the sellers are stating they do fit 03-06 sedans. The better part of me wants me to believe they will work but I don't think eBay sellers know they are physically different.

Would be a good thing if the eBay lights fit, since I would be looking at $150 for the set vs $500 for a rental car.

Can anyone confirm or have any other ideas? Thanks!

They won't fit...but since it's for a short time, the minor fitment difference might be tolerable.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, if it's minor I can tolerate it for the short time. What would I be looking at here? Will they mount in the same location? Will the hood close? Just want to know what I'm up against.

Realistically I don't see why not. But I have not done it myself so don't quote me on it. All I know is that I've modified both headlights before and I couldn't tell much difference except the inner housing.

Would like to know myself. I need to do a project on my headlights. I PM'ed a few sellers that said the lights were for 05-06 and mentioned to them there is a difference from the 03-04. I asked if they had different ones or if they were the same. No responses from 3 sellers. I'm taking that as a no (my question was in regards to fitment).

Without physically trying and comparing the two I really wouldn't know. The two instances I had in contact with the lights were separate. so I couldn't know exactly where or how its different.

IvoryGT, I won't quote you but that is the best answer I have gotten regarding the similarities vs. differences of the 03-04 and 05-06 sedan headlights. I have looked at cars in my area and do see the inner design differences between the two but other than that they do seem identical in form.

A forum member told me he installed the ebay "JDM" headlights in his '04 HID equipped sedan and they were plug and play so at least I know the eBay halogens plug into the HID harness in the car. I know they fit and work with the 03-04 sedans. I just need to know whether they physically fit the 05-06 sedans.

One eBay seller said they fit all 03-06 sedans, while another said they fit all 03-06 sedan except those equipped with HIDs.

I will be the guinea pig and dive in. I will order the lights from one of the eBay sellers who state "they fit all 03-06 sedans" and report back with the results.
