Another gauge cluster LED change, white and blue

I just finished up a complete LED swap for 'Cat' on these forums. She wanted all white, I got as close as I could, interesting how the LCD's turned blue when they had white lights behind them.

Wow nice, I would definitely pay for someone to do this to my car!!

How much did it cost you in parts? And how many hours labor?

pics of mine and some other colors I tested.

also did ultra violet for a picture (the picture really doesn't capture the essence of the UV, it looks much more glow purple in real life)

and green

i just wish my camera captured what it really looked like... the green looked AWESOME in person along with the UV they are probably my fav colors.

the parts can be had for around $100

you need two types of SMD's the PLCC and the 805's the PLCC are like 4x6 mm and the 805s are like 2x1 mm... very small. I cannot recommend a DIY because of the difficulty of this procedure. unless you have worked on electronics for a long time you will not have fun and will most likely ruin something. the 03-04 should be easier because they use bulbs in a lot of places that can be converted to LED's but do not expect a write up for me. I already get enough messages as it is about asking me how to do this, I don't mind offering advice but I really can't walk you through everything.

there isn't a DIY for heart surgery (not that this is on that level) just for example..
