'04 G35 Coupe - Cloudy Headlight Covers

Just purchased a nice 2004 G35 Coupe with 47,000 miles for $16K. Dark gray with black interior. One lady owner with meticulous service records. Car in beautiful condition with only a few small paint peal spots on the lower fenders which I touched-up. One annoying thing is the headlight covers have a milky / cloudy film on the plastic covers. Would anyone offer suggestions to clean the headlights. If cleaning is not possible, what other options are available.

Thank you

I'd try meguires plastx before you go sanding away at your lights with one of the kits, if the plastx doesn't work then use one of the kits, but only sand by hand not with a drill.

Apply some alcohol to the head lights, then try the 3M headlights restore. It worked on my old accord.

Wet sand the headlight with 2000 grit paper , then buff it out with meguires plastx. Tape off around the headlights to protect the pain.

Whenever I had the slightest bit of fogging showing, I applied some cleaner wax and it came right off. The front headlights still look new and the car is in the Florida sun. For my mom's Honda, which was completely yellowed, I had a professional restorer come down and after working on the car for hours they are equivalent to new as well. He sprayed on a sealer when finished to protect the plastic to future discoloration. This guy worked like a dog sanding and polishing and applying the clear. I thought the $90 was worth it. Many used car lots use this service. As long as you use a reliable service you are fine.

All you need is a good cutting agent ex: merzurna cutting polish and a mild buffer with a cutting pad. Just wax the headlights after your done and bye bye film
