Headlight HID bulb change

Just want to make sure....
I have a 06 G and I want my projector to light like a 8000k bulb.
So the only thing i have to do is buy D2S 8000k bulbs and install them or do I have anything else to do?

Thanks!

Anything beyond 5000K and you lose a reasonable amount of light (lumens). Might as well have halogens at that point.

If it's color you're after, 6000K is the highest you should go IMO. You still lose some light, but it's not terrible. Otherwise, the cutoff mod (search it) is the best way to go about it.

I just got my Philips Ultinons 6000k D2S installed in my sedan. I love it!!!
The amount of light output lost from 6000k HID is really minimal and not noticeable for everyday driving IMO.

Go w/ 6000k

Yes, you'll need a ballast, bulbs, and a wire harness, i.e., a HID kit.

Or you can just replace the bulbs and make life easy. I just bought D2R 6k bulbs for lows and halogen bulb for fogs.
