I know LEDs get hot but was not sure about the HIDs, I just assumed the Ebay ones would be risky.

Did you test fit the assemblies to make sure the lines were right?

I just went with the company that had the best description and info on the lights and the ones that looked closest to OEM in the lens and reflectors. Fitment will never be 100% on a after market mass produced part like this I am happy with very close. I rather hack these and have a oops then hack my stockers and screw up. 160 for a pair vs 700 for a pair new OEM lamps.

LEDs don't get anywhere near as hot as halogens... or even HIDs for that matter.
The reason LEDs need cooling (like the cooling fans and heatsinks on the new audi headlights) is because it doesn't take much heat at all to damage the diodes, so high powered LEDs can easily burn themselves out if not cooled properly.

Anyone know the light output difference between these and the stock HIDs? Considering how expensive/labor intensive it can be, just curious if it's more function or form.

Coming along very nicely! Is there anyway to use the same shroud top and bottom?

nice job dude! that looks like major work bu twhen you're dont you will be uber happy!

make sure you adjust the beams before you put it all together! sometimes the projectors requre totational adjustment to shoot a straight line that will require further modding! Kudos on doing a progression thread!
