Clear corner LEDS

I ordered some LEDs from a vendor to replace the stock clear bulbs that came from the original amber lenses. I was hoping now that I have clear corner lenses that I could get an LED that matched the stock hue of the main xenon bulb.

Well this is what I got:

Suffice to say, it looks god awful. I'm not changing the kelvin of the main xenon bulb and for reference of before, the original clear bulb looks like the fog light hue but not nearly as bright. If it was brighter and slightly more white, it would be perfect.

I'll likely be changing the fog lights to 2500K (depending on how it looks, may revert to stock) but needless to say, I would think having 3 different coloured bulbs would look absolutely stupid (no offense).

Where can I get 4300K-5000K LEDs for the clear corners!! I don't need to waste another 30 bucks to say..."well that looks like ****"

- Matt

Alot of people (myself included) have gone the multi led mod and purchased either 5500k leds which is what I got or the 6500k from v-leds.com but superbrightleds.com looked like a reasonable site as well.

+1, I also went through so many and I hate mismatching so I actually unpluged mine.

Yes, in my impatience I ordered from superbright.

I got 7 bulbs, 2 of each type of white and 1 extra natural for the trunk. ~30 bucks shipped to Canada. For 30 bucks shipped before, I got only 3 bulbs. Needless to say, I feel screwed over and not happy about it. Not only that, I waited over 3 weeks for them to get here..disappointing but such is life.

I'm hoping now that I ordered so many, I'll be able to find one that is coloured properly.

I'll update the thread with each type when they get here.

Cheers.

You want pure white LEDs? PM mrwong@statik for some Halo LEDs. Pure white. No blue hue/tint.

Halo LED on the left, v-led on the right.

I really like my LEDs for the interior but having them in clears is too bright and illegal in all states being the wrong color, we don't need another reason to get pulled over....

They should be here this week. I'm thinking that the something slightly warm will actually fit the bill better - ordering so many better land me something decent! I paid a ridiculous amount to have them shipped here quickly, pics to come.

i still think white ccfl's are the closest match...not as easy as plug n play, but well worth it in the long run

I disconnected my City(Parking) lights so that only my actual HID is on in the housing. It actually looks really good.

Well I finally got my LEDs. After hoping that 30 bucks in shipping would get these half ounce pieces to my door readily, I was utterly disappointed to find out that my catch can, ordered the day before I ordered the LEDs, at a shipping cost of 10 dollars, also arrived today. Nevertheless everything is here, finally. And so, onto the pictures.

Warm White

Natural White

Cool White

Despite how the pictures are showing it, I think Natural White actually was the closest. Cool white was not nearly as blue as the ones I had before but a slight hue was present. The Warm White has a very slight tinge of orangey-yellow.

Overall luminescence is similar among the 3 and very comparable to the ones I had before, which to me is acceptable. Not dim but not overpowering. I'm still running my stock fog lights and have not gotten around to switching those out to the 2500K's I have lying around in the garage. I suppose, I am lazy afterall

Cheers.

EDIT: See next post.
