50w bulb with a 35w ballast?

Can you put a 50W HID bulb with our stock ballasts?

I know the stock bulb is 35W, what happens if you put 50W bulb on stock Ballast?

Well I am guessing something would melt? Same thing like putting a 120 watt bulb in a 60 watt lighting fixture the wiring is not set up for it.

You would have a 50W running at 35W, that's about it. Not much point running a 50W bulb in that situation.
