Clock bulbs

Does anyone know where I can purchase the small light bulbs that illuminate the clock? Other than the dealer. Thanks.

Most hobby shops carry them, you will have to mod the wires to fit the clock light sockets but they will work fine. I bought about 8 of them for cheap like $7 I used a 14v electric train bulbs, a little dimmer but a more stout filiment and with the yellow cover off the bulbs the work great. alot cheaper than what the dealer wants for a clock.

I believe they are called "grain of rice" bulbs. And no, I'm not kidding.

pretty sure its "grain of wheat"

I got mine at the local Frys, they were like $1.50 each.

you have to strip the wires, because the ones they sell are insulated and that was kind of a pain (since they are so small)..
I ruined one of them (the wire pulled out while stripping) but at the price you are still way ahead if you ruin a couple

I went to the Honda dealer and they pulled out a plastic bag of various bulbs they had pulled from cars. Found 6 that fit and they gave them to me since they were considered used. Honda doesn't carry the bulb, and not knowing that made them free since they didn't know what to do with them. Bulbs fit perfectly and it took me about 10 minutes to replace them.

The bulbs simply popped in, there was no fuss or need to strip wires or anything.
