HID Bulb EXPLODED!!

Hi all,

I am replacing a single HID low-beam bulb on my 2003 G35 Sedan with an OEM replacement from Philips (thanks GR8TG35 for the awesome guide!) and when I removed the non-working HID from the ballast, it looked like this:

So while I thought the old bulb was just burned out, it looks like it exploded. I know HID bulbs are pressurized, so should I be concerned about glass splinters or parts of the brown coat being inside of the reflector bulb housing? Should I blow inside of it (or use compressed air) to get rid of any debris before I install the new bulb?

Nevermind, I blew some compressed air in there but it hardly did anything, most of the glass pieces were further down in the reflector dish. Anyway, I installed the HID bulb and everything is working great.

well i cant see the pic cuz im at wrk, but im guessing whenever the bulb was installed someone touched the bulb with their fingers. when installing HIDs DO NOT touch the bulb, the oils on your skin will get on the bulb and then heat up when the bulb is on, sometimes causing it to explode
