Painting Headlight Parts

This might be a stupid question, but here goes. Can I paint this part? The bottom one too for the fog light. Not the chrome bowl, but the silver reflector that hides the bulb. I'd rather ask before I do it and screw it up. And if I can, would it look funny? Maybe that's why I haven't seen it done. I would be painting it black to match the rest of the housing. Thanks for any input.

you should be able to paint the outside of it, but you can't paint the reflector portion so it would look awkward IMO

I decided to not paint the part I was asking about. Here's some pics of them, they are almost done. I cut out the orange diffuser, and painted them a semi gloss color matched OB. The clearance strips seen better days so I just painted over them, I don't think it looks too bad. Just need to bake them back together and swap my new bulbs and I can take it back out for the summer. Sorry about the camera phone pics, its all I got.

Looks good OP!

I also painted my clearance strip a greyish color that kind matches my DG. Put pics when installed!

you can actually paint the bowl too, just depending on the type of paint...i have painted mine with a transluscent gold...as far as black goes i wouldn't advise it but maybe if you did the outside only it wouldn't effect light output too much, not really sure
