Turning g35 coupe foglights into DRL (cdn version)

I bought a u.s model g35 coupe and to pass inspection I need to have Day running lights (DRL).
I was wondering what cheapest route would be. Am I able to hook up the foglights for DRL?
Like when car starts the fog lights turn on and when i turn on the night lights they shut off?

I wonder if tapping into an ignition wire and run it through a small relay to my parking light wire so whenever the car ignition was on, the DRL's would be on could work? that way I can just remove it after. Anyone try this?

My car was imported from the US and my fog lights are my daytime running lights. I didn't do it so I'm not usre how it's done but it definitely can be done exactly as you described above.

Yeah i ended up going to crappy tire and buying some cheap foglights ($30), 12v relay ($6) and all the wires needed were in the foglight kit,

Install was quick I didnt cut any factory wires at all. I got the acc power sorce from the fuel pump fuse (in engine bay).

Passed inspection and same day I came home and took off the foglights!!! . I hate how foglights look,

I'm shocked you passed inspection with those off road un-aimed cheap glaring lights.

And I'm pretty sure all you had to do was go to the dealer and have DRL's programmed with Consult II, many 2000+ vehicles came with the modules necessary they just weren't activated when un-necessary.

In either case I'm curious why you'd add cheap looking lights when all you had to do was hook up the Fog lights that are already on the car in this fashion?
