Projector ballast going bad? eBay replacements okay?

So after going through about 8 pairs of HID bulbs, my driver side projector is always more yellow than the passenger side. I am using 6000k bulbs, 8 pairs all from different sellers. From philips to cheap china stuff.

The cutoff is also messed up on the driver side, instead of a horizontal line like the passenger side, it distorts into something like a triangle and becomes yellower at the peak.

Head it's the ballast?

Will cheap $9 ballasts fix this?

is this the one im looking for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HID-REPLACEM...ht_2515wt_1139

Look up Matsush*ta gen 3, 4, or 5 ballasts. You can find them on ebay as well.

OEM ballasts vs cheap $9 ballasts

Those cheap ones won't last long.

TRS might be able to sell you a single ballast, and that would let you choose OEM level or a high-quality aftermarket.

Any luck with this because I'm having the same problem. I had bought a D2R 3009 I believe, from O'Reillys Auto Parts for about $100. Luckily it comes with a 1 year warranty and the guys there have been really helpful. I'm sure at this point it's a bad wiring problem, a short or something. So seems like your problem could really help me out with what you find. Any info would be much appreciated.

Just look up Matsush*ta, they make the ballasts that come with your car. You can find them brand new for pretty cheap if you take a little time and shop around. I've purchased a new pair of Matsush*ta ballasts for $85 before.
