06-07 OEM Coupe Headlight Question
06-07 OEM Coupe Headlight Question
I recently purchased new 06-07 oem headlights for my older G35 Coupe because one of the older lights needed replaced so I just did both. I have had them on the car for about a week and I am not sure if I may have received a defective one. I am aware that there was a recall on these but I did purchase them new about a month ago so I expected not to have that issue. The one on the left seems to be uneven at the top compared to the one on the right. I know they can be aimed up and down which they seem to be aimed correctly. I don't think what I am talking about can be adjusted. Is this normal? Do your projectors look like this? Thanks.
I have read that thread before. The question I have is if they are faulty because you can only adjust the height I believe. I don't know if they are supposed be like mine are on the left side. Can someone please confirm this for me or better yet show me a picture of your projectors.
I tried aiming them again and as I thought the only thing that adjusts is the height. The part of light that curves down on the left headlight does not change. Can someone please let me know if this is what it is supposed to be doing with the new revised post-recall headlights.
It looks like the projector could have been bumped in shipping. You can't adjust the rotation of the projectors unless you take the lights apart. If you take the light out and open the cap to expose the ballast ignitor and projector, you might be able to push the projector to rotate it slightly to straighten it. It shouldn't need much. But if not, you'll have to take them apart. But as you guessed, no that's not normal.
These are my headlights from 25ft out. They sit 2" below proper alingment. I still need to adjust. Mine do dip slightly on the left as you can see from the pics. It doesn't effect me while i'm driving I get good light output on the streets. These are the upgraded 6k hid lamps.
Hope this helps you. Pm me if you have any questions.

Thank you for posting that. I adjusted them more tonight at a further distance and was able to reduce the area of question. I will try again tomorrow night to see if I can improve it even more.

I am thinking that any reason they are not perfectly horizontal is probably from how the headlights are bolted in. I aimed them a little lower because I believe they were too high in my pics even though that is from only about 15 ft away. Now they look more like they should I think and there may be just a very small shadow of light on the top compared to the large slope before.
