Where can I tap into to join a light with the dome light?

I bought some lights, and I want to wire them to turn on with the dome light. I could do the door courtesy light but I noticed that they don't turn on upon pressing the Unlock button on the remote. I could touch the contacts but is there a postive and negative wire I could splice into, for a cleaner install? Thanks!

You can tuck the wires along the pillars and up to the headliners. Then pull the wire through to where the bulbs are and just connect the wires there.

I use that method to install LED strips as courtesy lights or when I turn on the dome lights manually.

If this can be done. It'd be way easier on the driver side(i'm assuming thats where the BCM is). As for the passenger side I don't think I can reach to the dome light yet the BCM on the driver's side.

I ripped down the dome light piece but I can't undo the harness clip. Anyone know which wire it is?

The BCM won't work. Ive tried that before. When you open the door the light turns on and off when you close it. If you want to control the light its best to do it from the dome light. Not too hard, just thread the wire through the pillars, figure out which is positive and neg and solder.

i guess it depends on how oP wants to control them. all he stated was the lights dont turn on if connected to courtesy lights if he unlocks using the key fob. if thats all he wanted was for the light to turn on and off with the lock/unlock like the dome lights then the bcm would work if connected to the surveillance dome light wire but yea wont turn on and off if u manually turn on the dome light.
