Is there anyway to have my turn signal only shine while being used?

I've looked for a long time and so far all I've found are people wanting to change the turn signal lens from amber to clear like the 06 headlights are. I have the 05 lights and don't care about the plastic I just don't want them on unless im changing lanes.

Does anyone know of anyway to do this? Since the light has a dim and bright setting, would it be possible just to cut the wire that keeps them dim so they only get bright while in use?

The bulb is a dual filament bulb...( either 7440 or 7441, I can't remember )...

To answer whether you can clip it, you should be able to.

If memory serves me right, you have a pair of wires side by side, and one offset.

If you figure out which one is the positive lead, clipping it should cut the power filament that acts as the running light. The light should remain off until the signal is activated, which is the offset wire and the other filament.

If you do this, make sure you cap off the lead that you clip so you don't have a chance of shorting the system when hitting a bump or anything.

I'm sure if I'm incorrect, I'll be corrected.

Thanks. I looked up pictures for the wiring diagram and the turn signals have two wires running to them. One for the city lights and then a signal line. The clearance strip taps into the city light line and uses the same ground. I'll just cut the city light wire and that should work
