04 g35 coupe headlight mod

I'm in the middle of doing the blackout headlight housing mod. I am also going to get rid of the orange lense... I was wondering if I can put a clear piece of plexiglass in its place, or will it melt. I found some of those ceiling light covers from Home Depot, but they don't look good...

If you're going to use plexiglass, try to use one that is a little thick so that the heat from the bulb doesn't affect it much. The orange piece does not just come out though, you're going to have to use a dremel or drill and cut the orange piece out. It's a little bit of work. Another option, since you're already painting the rest of the healights black, would be to use NiteShade and put one or two coats on the orange lense to black it out a little. The ligth will still be yellow/orange when the light is on, a little darker, but still orange.

I already dremeled the orange out... Now it's going to be a challenge to cut a perfect circle to fit the opening...
